Missionary Sunday and Monday!

                     Dallin and the sea urchins!

suuuuup
This week has been amazing! Had a lot of success this week!
"Lance" came to church this week for his first time and he loved
it!!!!! We were so excited! On Saturday when we met with him he was
really nervous about coming. He hadn't been to church in a very long
time and he said he just felt like church was a place where people
"show off their belief in Christ" but i think when he came to church,
he was pleasantly surprised. He said he's coming next week and he was
just super giddy about reading the book of mormon and meeting with us
this week. Oh, and he said the closing prayer of our lesson on
saturday! It's really cool because he said that was the first time
he's prayed in a really long time. He will definitely be baptized!
We also met 2 new people on the bus after district meeting on tuesday.
They seem like pretty solid people too! It was just an overall very
successful week!
Now its time to go to the zoo! :)
peace love you, Conner

Dallin right before breaking out in hives from the shrimp he ate!

This week Elder Pearson came and spoke to us.  It seemed like everything he was saying was directed to me.  Everyone probably thought the same though.  The day after we went to knock on some homes on a certain street.  We found a lady who was baptized years before and who was less active.  She had some deaths in the family and was pretty depressed, but pretty friendly to us.  She was looking after a lady who had a brain injury after many years of schooling.  We gave them both blessings.  The less active told us that she felt better immediately.  The One who had a brain injury said that the blessing felt "heavenly".  It was good that we were there to give them the Spirit...

Mothers Day and Spring!

Spring has sprung!!!!

                                                                 Drew up to bat

I love these kids!!

And then they got silly

And I was trying not to laugh because it HURT!!
4 weeks post surgery---Healing is coming along.  Two weeks until I can run again!!!!

not the best quality pics.  Dallin, his comp and newly baptized member.

And they still get silly even as missionaries

Mothers day was wonderful.  I have great kids!!  Breakfast in bed,

cute homemade presents

And YES!  Trevor made his infamous Fried Chicken... house is still standing :)

Then we all gathered to talk to Dallin and Conner (Trevor is holding the phone)

Tanner and Drew played them a piano piece

We laughed and enjoyed SOOOO much talking with our missionaries. (they weren't allowed to skype).
We finally hung up with Dallin at 10pm--he called kind of late.
It was an amazing day, and I am so grateful for Family!!

Happy Easter and missionary mail!

Happy Easter Weekend!!  After almost a week in the hospital recovering from surgery, it is great being home and the kitchen smells like a spring Garden!  Thank you to all my friends and family.  I love you!

On the other hand, Mom can't do much right now, and was hoping someone would supervise the little boys in making their cookies.

Those aren't burnt, but just full of too much butter.  They actually still tasted ok, just a goop of carmel and chocolate!
Here's to my sweet Daughter (and to Andy) who kept the house and kids in order while I was gone!  She is incredible! Thanks Taryn!
The best part of the week is always the missionary mail.  I get one on Sunday and one on Monday.  Those are great days!!

Hi family
Happy Easter! Glad your surgery went well mom. Pretty crazy stuff.
This week was good. Still visiting a lot of less-actives and active
members. I love it! The ward seems like they really like us so that's
good!
Trying to think of what to write... Richards still doing well. Trying
to get him to the temple soon. He blessed the sacrament yesterday and
said it right his very first time! Wednesday night we went to the
church to talk to some people up there and then of course the youth
were all playing basketball in the gym after mutual so we stepped in
and schooled them in a few games of lightning before we headed home
for the night. It was pretty fun stuff!
Friday night a kid in the ward got baptized and asked us to give the
talks so we went to that. All the little kids in the ward think im
magic because of the thing where you squeeze the wrist and push all
the blood out and then let it all rush in. So now whenever they see me
they want me to do the "magic" trick to them. Ha its pretty funny
stuff!
We had a lesson on Saturday at the church for the first time with a
guy who's pretty interested. He says he doesn't shut anything out and
has always been impressed with the Mormons and the quality of lives
they live so he decided to meet with us and see what its all about!
He's a really cool guy!
And then of course easter was good! Sacrament meeting was awesome
yesterday and to make it even better, we had no extra meetings
yesterday!!! ;) haha jk
Well im doing well. Mission's great. Church is true. God is good. :)
Love, Conner

This week we baptized "Chas".  He is a sixteen year old Maori kid.  We met him about 3 weeks ago, and he was really interested in learning how to follow God, and recognizing the Lord's voice in his life.  We met pretty much every day since, and long story short, he was baptized this Saturday.  He said it would be a good experience for him to go on a mission, and wants to raise his future posterity/family in the Church.  His cousin, Jasmine, it getting baptized on May the tenth. She has no concerns about the baptism, so that will be good.  They both came to a fireside last night, and loved it.  There is another investigator, Moana, who has a daughter who just left on her mission to Houston, Texas about a week ago.  We gave her a Book Of Mormon and told her to pray about it.  She came to church yesterday, and the Easter fireside last night.  We haven't followed up on her prayer yet, but she seems like she is very keen to come to many of the activities and events that are running.  There was a big black dog that was chasing me on my bike for about 10 seconds on...Wednesday I think.  It chased me across the street and was running after me.  Then a Samoan member honked at it to try to get it away.  We ate dinner at a members house on...Friday. They have two Autistic boys who have very gentle spirits.  I gave them and their other siblings pieces of gum, and showed them the pictures in the Bible of the predicted sites where Jesus lived; for an Easter spiritual thought for the family.  Peace out, love you , bye! Yoooo
Im doing good. Just a normal week. We had interviews with president
ames on tuesday which are always awesome. cant really remember
anything after that until conference... haha But conference was really
good. I used to love conference weekend only because i got to sleep in
and not get ready for church but now i actually like it for the right
reasons haha. I took a lot of notes. I dont really know what my
favorite talk was but i liked Elder anderson and Elder hollands...
There was a lot of others that i thought were really good i just cant
remember them!
I really have no idea what else to write... Im still doing fine!
love you! Conner

Sounds like the surgery is a pretty big deal Mom.  Hopefully it will clear up.  i hope it heals fast..That wouldn't be good if it was cancer.  Thanks for the conference candy.... I bet Tanner and Drew will love being on the ocean, eating food and swimming.  This week we taught a Hindu family and found a lot of potentials.  There really is nothing new... Thanks for the package and writing me this week.  We taught some really good lessons this week.  Abraham was definitely not looking to join the church lol..We are teaching a 16 year old who is thinking about going on a mission.  We had 5 people come to sacrament, an investigators family, and the 16 year old.

3-31-14
Hola.
This week was pretty typical... haha nothing CRAZY. Still working on
Moses, but we werent able to meet with him this week which was a
bummer... Richard has been in the hospital all week and they "werent
allowed" to tell us which hospital he was in. Brother Oster (Richards
fellowshipper) got pretty mad at the people for not telling us... But
Richard called us early this morning and wants us to stop by tonight
so we'll figure out what was going on! hopefully nothing crazy.
We went on an exchange yesterday with the deaf elders again. It was
fun. It was the first Sunday exchange I've ever done so i didnt know
what to expect...Oh, CJ i met one of your friends that i guess was at
you and taryns wedding... I forgot his name but he was in the ward i
went to! Just thought it would be good to see how well the
missionaries work with the ward. Going there made me realize that our
ward counsel is actually pretty good... haha theirs wasn't.
Sometimes as a missionary you get really annoyed that the ward isn't
focusing on missionary work 100% of the time... haha jk but really. I
am now more thankful for our ward consel haha. If i'm ever a
mission leader i'm gonna give the missionaries a ton of time and have that be a big emphasis.
...Transfers are in 2 weeks so we'll see what happens there. I'm thinking i'll probably be transferred... I love this ward but i'm ready to move on haha guess that's how every area is. Well that's all i got peace love you

This week was pretty good, I called a guy during weekly planning that I remembered we talked to and like a month and a half ago.  I asked him if he still wanted to have a chapel tour.  He accepted and we are meeting at the chapel on Wednesday.  We knocked on a door and met an 18 year old kid.  He let us in and we taught the Restoration.  The Spirit was strong and he accepted a Book Of Mormon.  We set him with a baptismal date for April 19th.  The next day, we went back in the evening.  His mom (another religion, Cook Islander)  told us he couldn't speak english very well, and that he didn't understand us the day before.  But we were sure that he was understanding everything we said.  She told us that he was moving back to the Islands soon. (She was probably lying).  We got her permission for him to come to church.  In the morning we went to go by and walk with him to church.  She said he had been drinking all night.  So nothing happened from it.  We talked with Abraham, and we are having a "piano lesson" on Friday.  If only I knew how to teach piano lessons...

Dallin March 23

No this is not Dallin
"This is Cedrick.  He is about 3 feet tall, and loves MMA fighting.  He was showing us his MMA moves this one night.  I have a couple videos.  I told him to call me "best friend".  So
that's what he does every sunday at church. "

 Conner March 24

Sup family.
Haha theres a guy in our apartment complex that always says "sup
Mormons" as he smokes his weed when we pass him. Haha we pass him like
every day, he's the funniest guy ever. Not interested in Jesus at all
but he's still cool. That's why I started with "sup family"...
anyways :) this week was pretty good. Not one that sticks out of any
other but every week as a missionary is good. We had a good
lesson with moses on Monday but he didn't come to church yesterday! We
think him and his wife got in a little tustle before church... We asked her where moses was and she said "not at
church" and then walked off.. Ha a little awkward but shes always like
that. :) good stuff
We had a lesson with a guy on Wednesday. (the guy that randomly came
to church last week) He's the RLDS guy so it was a little different
cuz he already believed in the Book of Mormon and Joseph smith. We
didn't really know what to do so we just got talking to him and
discussed the difference in the RLDS and our church and we just got on
the topic of the plan of salvation so we taught about that. I think we
thought he was more solid than he actually is. His testimony of the
BoM is no where close to what we thought it would be. He said he
"wanted it to be true". When we teach him this week we're going to
focus more on the basics and on the Restoration. We think that will be
the best for him.
Man before my mission I had no idea how awesome the Book of Mormon
is!!!!!!!!! It's freakin amazing!  Definitely better than the Hardy Boys.... ;)
We went on two exchanges this week which is always fun. when I was in
the zone leaders area with E Gregory, E Campbell got his bike
stolen.... So now we walk FOREVER. It's the worst and takes forever.
We took the bus to some place in our area and did a little bit of work
there and then walked all the way back to our apartment. it took like
2 hours. Hopefully he'll get a bike soon. But i'll probably be
transferred in 3 weeks anyways so.... yeah
well that's all I got, wow that's a pretty long one this week though.
Embrace it
peace love you :)

Road Trip to Boise (basketball tournament) for Tanner's Lone Peak 6th grade team...

They won the whole thing...this team from UTAH

I seriously prefer T-shirts to trophies---adds to the wardrobe.  But they got trophies this time.

Drew and Tanner enjoying Harry Potter on the way home!

Conner and the Longhorn

March 10

yo. This week was good. We still dont have a baptism date for moses
but it'll come! He's starting to get really comfortable in Elders
quorum and loves the feeling he gets when he comes to church. He's
freakin awesome!!!!!!!!! We got a random text from Granny Smith last
night. (the lady that dropped us because of her "spiritual mother")
she told us to come by tonight because the, what she calls, "non
believers" are gone until tuesday. We were pretty surprised. She was
telling us last night that she is super depressed and doesnt even know
who she is anymore. She realizes that what we shared with her is
something good!!!! We'll see how it goes tonight.
thats all i can think of. Gospels still true. Still working hard!
peace love you
